Book III This part deals with aspects of betrothal and marriage. Rather it is a book about the art of living — about finding a partner, maintaining power in a marriage, committing adultery, living as or with a courtesan, using drugs — and also about the positions in sexual intercourse.
Book Four consists of two chapters and within the two chapters are eight topics. Vatsyayana himself clearly states this in the very first chapter of the book: Salutation to Dharma, Artha and Kama. Her finding and textual analyses highlights that these texts are products of their times in so far as the Kamasutra reproduce naturalized and glorified narratives of history and sexuality.
